Darren Zucker  who has been with us for the past two years  as Associate Manager will be stepping up to the ‘plate’ to take on the role of Grill Manager.  Darren has an extensive background and many years of restaurant management experience in the Cayman Islands.  We are confident the Sunshine Grill legacy that Mike began in 2005 of being the most popular and one of the best restaurants on the island will continue under Darren’s leadership.

Those of you who have visited Sunshine Suites on numerous occasions will be familiar with ‘little’ Renoir, our Senior Front Desk Supervisor.  Renoir is back with his family in Goa for the year but will be back with his Caribbean family mid 2012.

We’d like to welcome new additions to the front desk team; Julia Watling- Cayman Islands, Kayla Martin- Cayman Islands, Justin VanEck- Canada, Alexandra Tremoulinas  –France.

The pool-deck has been expanded and resurfaced as have the hotel’s external corridors.  The expanded deck will also serve as an outdoor bar and gathering area during the evenings.  Beautiful new restrooms have been added to serve the Sunshine Grill.

For the suites, we are currently waiting on the arrival of brand new vanity make-up mirrors to be installed in our One Bedroom Suites along with an enhanced television channels.  A new lighting package has been installed in all rooms with increased brightness and warmer look.  Further updates to come.

Our island renowned Sunshine Grill has undergone a facelift and come out brighter and better than ever with new flooring, fresh paint job and an expanded kitchen for even faster delivery of those world famous burgers and fish tacos.  Currently still in progress is the remodeling and beautification of the two restaurant bathrooms. This will be completed by the end of the month.  Sunshine Grill enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that we are adding some new items to our menu which we are certain you will love.

As of February, four rental bikes were purchased for our guests’ use. They have so far proved very popular. Bikes can be rented for either half day US$10 or full day US$15 and includes a safety helmet and lock. They are perfect for exploring the Seven Mile Beach area or making a grocery run to Fosters Food Fair to stock your in-room kitchen.
